Department S had hit the charts in March - the record had been about since December the previous year.
They became flavour of the month around this period, tho without being able to follow up their initial success, soon faded from view.
I remember they did a Radio One in concert, introduced by Gary Crowley, on the bill with The Jam. I had a self-produced tape of it for years.
Honey Bane seemed quite sexy - she was just about 2 years older than me - and very punk!
